We were totally reliant on Checkatrade to source us a trustworthy contractor for our home improvement. We signed up and advertised our requirements, but unfortunately, we were left in the lurch.

It all starts with their sneaky charges, which they hide in the legalese. Then, there's the terrible helpline that's about as incompetent as a chocolate teapot. You can try to raise an issue, but it's like talking to a wall.

Right away, the communication from the "qualified" trader was lackluster/awful/terrible. He was unprofessional/rude/disrespectful and gave us a quote that was outrageous/ridiculous/way too high. We tried to discuss the issues, but he was adamant/unwilling/stubborn to compromise/negotiate/change.
In the end, we ended up payinga huge sum/an exorbitant amount/ way more than it should have been by this so-called "vetted" trader. Checkatrade's support was equally useless/incompetent/unhelpful. They offered us a pathetic excuse/blamed the trader/did nothing.
We're left feeling frustrated and would definitely not recommend Checkatrade for your tradesman needs.
